So when you are ready to bolster your effectiveness and productivity, here smart guidelines on hiring a virtual assistant:

Cherry-pick your Virtual Assistant

You have to keep in mind that virtual assistants have their respective niches or field of expertise. Pick the right candidate with the type of skills and experience you are looking for.

Check portfolios or references
To ensure that you have the right man or woman for the job, then you have to heap on research. Ask for portfolios of their best works or if you can try to get in touch with their previous employer and ask if that boss was happy or satisfied with the service.

Set up an interview
Do a face-to-face interview with your virtual assistant via Skype or other similar online tools. This way you can get a feel of the person and know if she or he has the right attitude or the kind of personality that you like.

Cut the fairest deal
Now this is a crucial step when it comes to how much should you pay your virtual assistant. The rule of thumb here is to really cut the fairest deal, depending on the amount of work you will be delegating to your VA, the level of difficulty of the tasks and other key factors involved.

True, you can truly save a lot of money working with a virtual assistant, especially located offshore, as you don’t have to spend money training them or paying their tax and health care. But you have to have to make sure you cut them with the fairest deal possible.
